Arqus Design’s Scott Peabody will join other Australian CEOs in this year’s Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise awareness of Australia’s homelessness issue. Their goal is not just to service the homeless, but to bring about an end to homelessness by raising funds.
At Arqus Design, we are committed to creating meaningful and enjoyable environments for people… homes to live in; places to work; and spaces for entertainment and recreation.
As Architects and Interior Designers, we are saddened by the prospect that there are in excess of 100,000 people in Australia who do not have a place to call home and “sleep rough” each night of the year.
The St Vincent DePaul Society is dedicated to supporting people in need and assisting people experiencing homelessness. Now in its 7th yeah, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout raises awareness of homelessness and more importantly, offers an opportunity for people more fortunate to support this cause by sponsoring a participating CEOas they experience what it is like to be homeless for one night in winter.
In Queensland last year, the CEO Sleepout raised $548,666 which helped to fund the following:
- Funded the ongoing provision of 112 affordable or support housing accommodations available for people who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless;
- Assisted in the provision of over 100 new homes in areas of real need in greater Brisbane and Regional Queensland;
- Helped fund the Social Housing Program which compliments the Families Back on Track facility which opened in 2011 on the Gold Coast. This facility accommodates single parents with children.
On the 21st June, Scott Peabody will be joining 150 other CEO’s taking part in the Queensland Sleepout. If you would like to offer your support towards this very worthy cause,?please donate here. Money raised will give the St Vincent de Paul Society the opportunity to fund new projects, assist with the provision of existing homeless services and allow Vinnies homeless services to expand their programs.
